Celanese is seeking an Instrument and Analyzer Technician to join our team in Bay City, TX. This individual will perform maintenance troubleshooting in a process unit and be able to demonstrate troubleshooting skills on process equipment in the areas of transmitters, control valves, Fisher & Valtek Control Valves, thermocouples, TIs, LIs, interface levels, Triconex, SIS systems, Allen Bradley, Delta V, DCS Control Systems, Bentley Nevada, SAP, etc.
Owns execution of scheduled maintenance work, adhering to the 4 core principles (Safety, Reliability, Quality, and Engaged Employees) including:
- Completes predictive maintenance tasks and interprets data to identify and address emerging risks.
- Completes repairs & calibrations on instrumentation equipment.
- Completes repairs & calibrations on process analyzer equipment.
- Ensure that maintenance is executed safely, efficiently and work quality is exceptional.
- Reviews the job package, understand scope, and prepares pre-task plans to ensure that maintenance work can be performed in a safe manner and in accordance with Conduct of Maintenance.
- Completes level C RCAs on failures. Interprets predictive maintenance data to identify and reduce risk.
- Provide backup coverage for onsite Analyzer Technician.
- Strong process reliability & safety mentality.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple simultaneous assignments.
- Must understand and have experience working with Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Must be willing to learn Process Analyzer repair techniques.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skills.
- Ability to work a 10-hour shift (including evenings, weekends and holidays) and overtime, when required.

- Required Years of Experience:
- Min. 3-5 years preferred in Chemical Manufacturing.
- Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred- Associate Degree in Instrumentation Technology or Equivalent/ In Process.
