Whirlpool is  currently seeking qualified candidates for a Settings File and Cycles Engineer within the global dishwasher team.  This is an onsite role at our St. Joseph Technology Center in MI.

 

In this role, you will be accountable to develop and integrate technological solutions related to improving wash, hydraulic, kinematic, and chemical delivery systems on our Global Dishwasher Team.  Specific technical focus areas of this role are system optimization and cycle algorithm design.  The ability to plan and execute design projects, initiate and generate technical data to support patent filings and business opportunities, to work with limited supervision and also with diverse technical and business groups is essential to this career.  This role is an outstanding opportunity to apply Six Sigma principles for experiment design and optimization

 

This Settings File and Cycle Analyst role is located on the Dishwasher Cycles and Settings File team within the Performance Subsystem. The primary function of this role is to deliver an integrated software design that provides the requested performance, features and functions for dishwashers. This North American Regional role offers endless opportunities to work on all types of dishwashers and provides numerous experiences to help you learn and grow in your career.

Your responsibilities will include

 

  • Development of system algorithms with supervision
  • Dishwasher settings file (software) configuration management
  • Optimization of system performance, efficiency, reliability and cost.
  • Active participation in technical project reviews and innovation.
  • Plan, request, and coordinate laboratory and model shop requests
  • Develop Intellectual Property - infrequent
  • Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting and testing
  • Data acquisition, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Own self-development plan and complete required trainings
  • Contribute to strategy and change the work initiatives to strengthen overall team engagement, efficiency and delivery.

Minimum requirements

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 1+years of new product development experience

Preferred skills and experiences

 

  • Masters Degree in Engineering 
  • 1+ years of experience post-college graduation in software, software testing and verification.

  • 1+ year of experience working with industry standard software languages (C, Python, Javascript, etc.), embedded software development, and tools.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally and globally.

  • Basic knowledge of FMEAs, 6 sigma tools, Risk Management, and Project Management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact with global team members

  • Proven track record accomplishing goals and objectives
