Position Overview:

This position is responsible for a combination of material handling, shipping, and clerical duties that support production, quality, and customer delivery needs. The role ensures the timely and accurate movement of materials, maintenance of inventory, and execution of shipping processes in alignment with company standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Understand and apply all appropriate safety procedures, practices, and 5S/Lean principles (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including equipment, aisles, staging, and storage areas

  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks using safe work practices

  • Pull, move, lift, stack, and organize materials, including pallets, baskets, bundles, and products

  • Transport and stage materials in designated inventory and shipping areas

  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and other power-driven lifting equipment

  • Maintain and properly care for equipment, materials, and parts

  • Accurately receive materials into Oracle/ERP systems

  • Use scanners and systems to track and move materials while maintaining accurate inventory levels

  • Scan, sort, count, and organize inventory materials

  • Maintain and update inventory records and balances

  • Assist with annual physical inventory counts

  • Cross-train in receiving functions

  • Read and interpret work orders, pick tickets, and shipping documentation

  • Pull correct inventory and prepare items for shipment

  • Pick, pack, and inspect products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications

  • Verify all orders are accurately filled

  • Ensure proper packing techniques and that all shipments are correctly packed, labeled, and identified

  • Prepare shipment documentation including packing slips, bills of lading (BOL), certifications, and export/customs paperwork

  • Print shipment labels and required documentation

  • Stage materials and prepare shipments according to daily shipping schedules

  • Execute shipping schedules in a timely manner

  • Coordinate with delivery drivers for pickups and check drivers in and out

  • Ensure shipments are properly loaded onto delivery vehicles

  • Track and update shipment status, including interplant, customer, OSP (Outside Processing), and supplier drop shipments

  • Communicate with planning, production, customer service, buyers, and Accounts Receivable regarding shipment status, delays, discrepancies, and invoicing issues

  • Troubleshoot and resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory issues

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all shipping, receiving, and inventory activity

  • Enter daily activity into ERP systems, logs, and reporting tools

  • Prepare outbound reports and compile required operational reports

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and process compliance

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Education & Experience:

  • 2 years shipping/manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Oracle preferred
