Responsibilities
- Use oxy/acetylene torches to bevel and prepare steel plate edges
- Interpret drawings, templates, and instructions to ensure precise cuts and angles
- Inspect workpieces for quality and accuracy throughout the beveling process
- Operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment to move steel plates safely
- Perform minor maintenance on beveling machines to ensure optimal performance
- Work in coordination with welders, fitters, and shop supervisors to meet production goals
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
