Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Analyst II to join our Product Development team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and usability of the CaseOpp platform through comprehensive testing, defect analysis, and collaboration across Product, Development, DevOps, and Operations teams.
 

The SQA Analyst II is responsible for analyzing business and technical requirements, designing and executing detailed test strategies, performing manual and exploratory testing, validating software functionality, and ensuring production readiness. This role serves as a quality advocate throughout the software development lifecycle while helping establish testing standards, improving QA processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, exploratory, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Validate software functionality across web applications, backend systems, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Develop and maintain test data, testing documentation, and testing artifacts to support repeatable and consistent testing.
  • Ensure software releases meet established quality standards before deployment.

Defect Management & Analysis

  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using Jira or similar test management tools.
  • Reproduce reported issues, analyze root causes, verify bug fixes, and coordinate with Development and DevOps teams through resolution.
  • Validate production issues and assist in troubleshooting software defects impacting internal users.
  • Monitor defect trends and provide quality metrics and recommendations to leadership.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Software Development, DevOps, Operations, and IT to clarify requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, product demonstrations, and release readiness activities.
  • Recommend improvements to QA methodologies, testing processes, documentation standards, and overall software quality practices.
  • Support the continuous improvement of testing frameworks and quality assurance standards.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Create and maintain detailed testing documentation, user guides, process documentation, and quality standards.
  • Translate technical specifications, Jira stories, and product requirements into clear testing scenarios and end-user documentation.
  • Document business workflows and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure software aligns with operational processes.

Compliance & Quality Standards

  • Verify software compliance with applicable business, security, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA where applicable.
  • Promote best practices for software quality, usability, and data integrity throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support release validation activities and production readiness reviews.

KEY SKILLS: 

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and QA testing skills, with the ability to validate software functionality against employee needs.
  • Experience developing comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases from business requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution, producing metrics for leadership.
  • Perform both manual and automated testing (e.g., functional, regression, API, and performance testing) using standard industry tools.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
  • Communicates effectively across technical and non-technical teams to ensure clarity and shared understanding.
  • Stay flexible and proactive when responding to shifting priorities, managing multiple tasks, and anticipating team needs.
  • Embraces continuous learning and development, quickly adapting to new tools, procedures, and software updates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4+ years of professional experience in SQA or related field .
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Quality Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience testing web-based applications, APIs, and integrated software systems.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Jira, and other similar software.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with healthcare, legal technology, or regulated software environments.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, or similar).
  • Experience with MongoDB or database validation.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools or scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience supporting software releases and production deployments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking. 
  • Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
