About Avanade Security

Avanade is the leading Microsoft Security services partner, helping organizations protect trust, enable Zero Trust, and modernize security through the Microsoft ecosystem. Our Security practice delivers advisory, consulting, and managed services across identity, cloud security, cyber defense, and governance—combining deep technical expertise with real‑world delivery experience.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Identity & Access Management (IAM) Solution Architect to help expand Avanade’s IAM business by leading opportunities from qualification through closure and into delivery. This role is ideal for a pursuit‑to‑delivery architect who combines strong solution architecture skills with hands‑on implementation experience.

You will serve as the technical authority throughout the sales lifecycle—shaping architecture, defining scope and assumptions, supporting commercial proposals, and transitioning seamlessly into delivery to maintain continuity, quality, and client trust.

The role focuses on Microsoft identity and secure access solutions, with an emphasis on Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Entra Suite, and the broader Microsoft security ecosystem supporting modern workforce access, Zero Trust, identity governance, privileged access, and secure connectivity to private and internet resources.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead IAM opportunities from pipeline qualification through contract signing, supporting a smooth transition into delivery
  • Own end‑to‑end technical solutioning, including architecture design, scope definition, estimates, assumptions, dependencies, and delivery considerations
  • Act as the primary technical architect in client meetings, workshops, solution reviews, and negotiations
  • Translate business and security requirements into scalable, secure, and deliverable IAM architectures
  • Develop high‑quality client and internal materials such as architecture diagrams, implementation approaches, staffing models, statements of work, and delivery plans
  • Accelerate qualification and solution development by reducing ambiguity and providing clear technical direction
  • Improve win rates by strengthening solution quality, delivery readiness, and technical credibility throughout pursuits
  • Maintain ownership continuity from early shaping through delivery handoff, minimizing rework and information loss
  • Collaborate closely with sales, alliances, consulting, and delivery teams to ensure what is sold is executable and aligned to client outcomes

.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IAM, security architecture, or consulting
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Entra and modern enterprise identity platforms
  • Experience moving from presales or pursuits into delivery architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Preferred

  • Experience leading large‑scale IAM or identity modernization programs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra Suite governance and secure access services
  • Experience with Intune, Defender, and identity‑centric security integrations
  • Consulting and large‑scale enterprise delivery experience
  • Relevant certifications such as SC‑300, AZ‑500, SC‑100, CISSP, or equivalent
