This position is based in Indianapolis, IN, where you will join a thriving operations team supporting specialty and non-standard customer orders. As a member of our SCO Associate (Special Customer Orders) team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring complex orders are completed accurately and efficiently—from picking and fabrication to loading and MTR production. This role is critical to delivering customized solutions and maintaining our high standard of customer service excellence.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong understanding of picking, checking, and loading processes
 • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and sit-down/stand-up forklifts
 • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
 • Intermediate computer skills (web search, Microsoft Office, Xerox)
 • Strong mathematical aptitude for order accuracy and measurements
 • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively
 • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with office and operations teams
 • Commitment to safety standards and operational excellence
 • Willingness to complete onboarding ASA product knowledge courses

What You’ll Do

• Cut, thread, roll groove, cut groove, or bevel pipe ends as requested
 • Gather pipe fittings using forklift, stand-up order picker, and cart
 • Pick pipe using overhead crane and/or unassisted methods
 • Double-check order products and quantities for accuracy
 • Load materials safely according to customer specifications
 • Perform same-day customer deliveries using company vehicles (F-250 and F-550)
 • Publish MTRs for fittings that require documentation
 • Support fabrication and specialty order preparation
 • Follow departmental procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
 • Maintain adherence to company safety standards and guidelines
 • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
 • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• At least 2 years of experience in distribution order fulfillment
 • Experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • MTRs 
  • Fabrication 
  • Pipe loading 
  • PVF picking 
  • Checking 
  • Specialty order picking (labels, special packaging, etc.)
     • Demonstrated ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
     • High school diploma or GED 

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
 • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
 • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity
 • Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and warehouse elements
 • Ability to operate warehouse equipment and tools safely
