Job Description

Specialist, Social Media

This position must be based on one of the campus locations of: Englewood, Colorado; Billings, Montana; Ivins, Utah.

The Specialist,
Social Media is responsible for developing, designing, and publishing creative
social media content aligned with the brand’s voice and marketing calendar.
They will manage day-to-day posting and community interaction across key
channels for Rocky Vista University, including, but not limited to, Facebook,
Instagram, and LinkedIn. They will also be responsible for managing and growing
Medforth’s alumni influencer program to amplify brand storytelling and
engagement. This role focuses on building strong relationships with alumni
advocates and influencers to support marketing campaigns and community
initiatives. The Specialist will also support social media efforts related to
influencer content and alumni engagement, collaborating closely with the Brand
and Social Media Manager and other marketing teams.

Essential
Functions

Alumni &
Influencer Engagement

  • Aid the Brand and Social Manager in identifying,
    recruiting, and nurturing relationships with alumni advocates and external
    influencers to represent Medforth’s brand authentically.
  • Manage ongoing communications and collaboration with
    alumni influencers, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and marketing
    calendar.
  • Coordinate alumni participation in campaigns, events,
    interviews, and content creation to boost reach and credibility.
  • Maintain the alumni influencer database and track
    engagement metrics and outcomes.

Social Media
& Content Support

  • Develop, design, and schedule creative, on-brand
    social media posts including graphics, videos, stories, and reels across
    multiple platforms. 
  • Manage day-to-day organic social media posting and
    engagement to foster community and brand loyalty. 
  • Monitor and respond to audience interactions promptly
    to foster an active and positive online community.
  • Collaborate with creative and content teams to ensure
    visual and messaging consistency across social media channels. 
  • Collaborate with other social media specialists to
    create and amplify influencer and alumni-related content across channels
    (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube).
  • Assist in developing creative briefs and content
    ideas that feature alumni stories and influencer partnerships.
  • Monitor social media engagement related to alumni and
    influencer campaigns, providing insights to improve performance.

Social
Listening & Reputation Monitoring

  • Monitor social media channels and online communities
    for mentions of Medforth, alumni stories, and relevant healthcare
    education trends.
  • Identify opportunities and potential issues related
    to alumni and influencer activities through social listening tools.
  • Provide timely insights and recommendations to the
    marketing and communications teams to shape messaging and engagement
    strategies.
  • Track sentiment and feedback from alumni and
    prospective students to inform community-building efforts.

Campaign
Coordination & Reporting

  • Work with the Brand and Social Media Manager and
    Brand Specialist to align influencer efforts with broader brand campaigns
    and marketing goals.
  • Assist with scheduling, content approvals, and
    logistics for influencer-related marketing activities.
  • Support monthly reporting on alumni influencer
    program performance, including reach, engagement, and conversion metrics.

Community
Building & Events Support

  • Support virtual and in-person alumni and influencer
    events to strengthen community connections and enhance brand advocacy.
  • Collaborate with recruitment and communications teams
    to promote alumni portal and other engagement platforms.

Essential
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in social media management tools (e.g.,
    Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and creative design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe
    Creative Suite).
  • Strong skills in copywriting, visual storytelling,
    and basic video editing.
  • Ability to analyze social data and translate insights
    into content improvements.
    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and
    multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media management,
    brand marketing, or digital content creation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or
    related field preferred.
  • Experience in working with influencers, establishing
    and building influencer programs.
  • Passion for higher education or healthcare industries
    a plus.

Work
Environment/Physical Demands

  • This job is performed at a workstation in a positive, creative and collaborative environment.
  • This is a largely sedentary role.
  • The ability to maintain good concentration while dealing with interruptions.

Hours and Travel

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm.

The anticipated salary range for the Social Media Specialist is $56,600 – $63,050 per year. The final salary offered may vary and will be determined based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, and education of the successful candidate. This information is provided per NYS local law.
