Citi Trends is seeking a high-performing Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role is a key business partner to both the VP of FP&A and the VP of Store Operations, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across store sales, payroll, expenses, and profitability.
This position will lead financial modeling for new store site selection, pro forma P&L development, and return on investment (ROI) analysis for capital projects. The Senior Financial Analyst will also support broader FP&A initiatives, provide actionable insights, and proactively identify financial risks and opportunities.
This is a high-visibility role with exposure to senior leadership, including the CFO, and offers strong growth potential within the Finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain store expense budgets and forecasts; analyze trends and monitor store profitability
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of company sales; maintain daily sales forecasts
- Support forecasting and analysis of store department expenses (headcount, travel, professional fees, technology, etc.)
- Develop pro forma P&L models and ROI analysis for new stores and capital investments
- Prepare financial materials for monthly business reviews and capital expenditure requests
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision-making
- Support month-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance across financial systems and reporting
- Assist with financial system implementations and process improvements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis or accounting
- Experience budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing sales and/or expenses (store payroll and store expense experience preferred)
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional partners
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in financial systems and analytical tools
Preferred:
- Retail industry experience
- Experience supporting store operations or workforce management analysis
- Exposure to advanced analytics or data modeling techniques
- Experience supporting system implementations
- CFA, CPA, or MBA (preferred but not required)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
