Job Overview: The Sr. mechanical engineer is a key member of the ETE Machining and Engineering group. We are looking for a skilled mechanical engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for working on all stages of our production cycles. Everything from research and design to manufacturing, installation and evaluation. The role will collaborate with the manufacturing engineering and operations teams to improve and expand our production system. You will be responsible for the delegation and project management of the workload for the team. Including outsourced engineering. The role will focus on improving key metrics including production, safety, quality, labor, and costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the Mechanical Engineering and Machining teams by assigning workloads, managing projects, and ensuring deadlines and objectives are achieved.
- Train, mentor, and develop employees to support continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Participate in required meetings, presentations, and virtual collaboration sessions scheduled or during the working hours of 6am-3:30pm CST.
- Manage the complete product development lifecycle, including design, development, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, implementation, and validation of components that meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and subject matter guidance to resolve product design, manufacturing, and process-related challenges.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software (SolidWorks).
- Utilize CAM software (Esprit) to develop manufacturing processes and support production requirements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of precision measuring and gauging equipment.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and G-Code/M-Code programming knowledge.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, specifications, and project summaries for the team.
- Support and evaluate additive manufacturing technologies and applications where appropriate.
- Identify, analyze, and develop effective solutions to emerging engineering and manufacturing issues.
- Evaluate product performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability throughout the development process.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, gauges, automation, and equipment that improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Lead and manage engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain manufacturing standards, including machine capability studies, process maps, setup documentation, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle time standards.
- Partner with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) personnel to ensure all equipment, processes, and facilities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales, to support organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, productivity, and operational excellence.
