Job Description
Key Responsibilities
 
Operational Leadership
 
• Oversee day-to-day operations across receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and returns processing.
• Manage multiple distribution centers or large-scale facilities (typically 200,000+ sq ft).
• Achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, order accuracy, on-time delivery, fill rate, and cost per unit shipped.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to support business growth, seasonal peaks, and new customer onboarding.
 
Team Management & Development
 
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers, supervisors, and 50+ hourly associates across multiple shifts.
• Foster a strong safety-first culture and maintain excellent OSHA / safety metrics.
• Handle talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
 
Process Improvement & Efficiency
 
• Drive Lean / Six Sigma initiatives, automation projects, and warehouse management system (WMS) optimizations.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
 
Compliance & Quality
 
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements (AIB, ISO, OSHA, DOT if applicable).
• Maintain high standards for inventory accuracy (99%+), product quality, and customer satisfaction.
 
Financial & Strategic Accountability
 
• Own the operating budget for labor, supplies, maintenance, and facility costs.
• Prepare monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and capital expenditure justifications.
 
Qualifications & Experience Required:
 
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, or 3PL operations.
• Proven track record managing large teams (50+ associates) and complex, high-volume distribution environments.
• Strong experience with WMS (e.g., Accellos, SAP, Blue Yonder, High Jump) and labor management systems.
• Demonstrated success implementing Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement programs with measurable ROI.
 
Preferred:
 
• Experience in e-commerce fulfillment, retail distribution, manufacturing supply chain, or temperature-controlled environments.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with automation and robotics in warehousing.
