Job Description

The role of a CStore SSP at The Spinx Company requires the employee to work effectively in a team environment, provide outstanding customer service, accurately and efficiently conduct various financial transactions while creating a welcoming environment in support of our Company Policies, Core Values and Operations Priorities.

Job duties include providing supporting the Management Team in the management of the entire operation.  He or she has responsibility for day-to-day store operations on their assigned shifts. Ensuring delivery of superior customer service, coaching/supervising employees, cash/cash equivalent, inventory and shortage controls, maintaining a safe environment for employees, customers and vendors, maintaining store and lot appearance, food operations, and adheres to and enforces all company programs, policies and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Management Team in the management of the entire operation.  He or she has responsibility for day-to-day store operations on their assigned shifts. This includes but is not limited to; ensuring delivery of superior customer service, coaching/supervising employees, cash/cash equivalent, inventory and shortage controls, maintaining a safe environment for employees, customers and vendors, maintaining store and lot appearance, food operations, and adheres to and enforces all company programs, policies and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Directs and coordinates staff in providing customer service activities as required by The Spinx Company, Inc.  Reviews and acts upon customer requests, complaints and inquires to ensure quality customer service.
  • Responsible for maximizing sales and profits within the store.  Controls store expenses, monitors and corrects shrinkage problems as outlined in the Inventory Management Plan (IMP) and operates within established budgets.
  • Coaches Associates within the store to ensure compliance with Merchandising, Pricing, Food Service, Store Appearance and Administrative requirements established by The Spinx Company, Inc.
  • Assists with the planning and preparing of work schedules in accordance with Labor Scheduler, and assigns employees to specific duties. 
  • Ensures that C- Store and Food Operation is in compliance with all appropriate, local state and federal regulations including, but not limited to hours of work, wages, age restrictions, fair employment laws, OSHA, DHEC, etc.
  • Conducts customer service, alcohol, safety and environmental training programs.
  • Assists with coordinating training for employees.  Evaluates performance, implements disciplinary procedures as required and properly documents actions.
  • Leads by positive example and demonstrates current ability and knowledge of all store functions, including all point-of-sale related equipment, reporting, food prep, cleaning, stocking, etc.
  • Responsible/accountable for the facility, its overall physical image, food quality, maintenance, equipment, safe environment, inventory, cash & cash equivalencies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for direction Store Associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include assisting as needed with interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems and documenting accordingly.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Required to work 48 hours per week.  The Shift Supervisor must be available to work a variety of shifts including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.  The Shift Supervisor will participate in Company sponsored training classes related to his/her job periodically. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.  Two-year college or university degree or a minimum of one year related retail sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Effectively present information to Customers, Associates and Management.   Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from associates, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.  Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Valid in-state Driver’s License and achieve and maintain the ServSafe Certification
