We have a job opening and exciting career opportunity for a full-time Staff Accountant in our Tiffin, OH location. This role is responsible for the primary support of the general accounting processes and procedures, including preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

Essential Functions:

  • Support month-end close duties as assigned.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ability to prepare accruals, based on actual operational data, such as commissions, product incentives, rebates, and payroll.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Support fixed assets tracking by gathering the supporting documents so the asset can be loaded into Sage.
  • Review accounts payable postings for coding errors.
  • Sales tax processing.
  • Participate in various sales tax audits.
  • Property tax processing.
  • Support the various audit requests as assigned.
  • Assists with generating annual 1099s and routine review of new vendor setups.
  • General updating of various reports that occur daily or monthly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You will Need to be Successful: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience Required: At least 3 years of Accounting experience.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and self-directed environment.
  • Willingness to contribute new ideas and feedback related to potential areas for improvements.
  • With the possibility of a work from home hybrid model (in office part of the week and remote part of the week).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.
