Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, assists with month-end close, prepares financial reports, and maintains compliance with accounting policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with financial data and must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
  • Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with accounts payable as needed
  • Support financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Other Ad Hoc Projects

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Jet Reporting and Adaptive is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
