Position Overview:
The Strategic
Marketing Manager collaborates closely with the Marketing Communications
(MarComm) Director to recommend, plan, and execute comprehensive strategies
that align with the Bank's brand and business objectives. This role is pivotal
in developing and delivering targeted campaigns, advertising, and promotional
materials for a designated line of business (LOB), supporting growth and
engagement efforts. Leading a team of MarComm professionals, this position
ensures all initiatives align with the Bank’s vision, strategic priorities, and
compliance standards, while fostering strong cross-functional partnerships to
drive impactful marketing results.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates
with the MarComm Director to set and execute strategic marketing
direction, initiatives, and budgets to implement the marketing plans.
- Recommends,
schedules, and initiates strategically targeted advertising and marketing
campaigns for designated LOBs, incorporating digital, mobile, and
traditional channels. - Oversees the
master calendar, tracking all marketing initiatives, including digital,
mobile, web, and special events, ensuring alignment with business and
compliance requirements. - Conducts and
analyzes market research, customer insights, and competitive trends to
inform campaign planning and development. - Coordinates
with the internal Creative Services team and external agencies to align
messaging, branding, and campaign execution with the Bank’s brand
strategy. - Leads the
development, editing, and approval of marketing materials and campaigns
tailored to the Bank’s target segments and strategic objectives. - Partners with
internal teams and external agencies to refine media purchasing plans and
optimize reach and engagement across channels. - Reviews and
coordinates advertising engagements with community and charitable
organizations, maintaining brand integrity and community relations. - Manages the
creation and distribution of sales support materials and merchandise for
banking centers, events, and promotional needs. - Ensures all
promotional materials are compliant with regulatory standards, working
closely with compliance officers. - Supervises the final production and quality assurance
of all campaign collateral, product materials, and disclosures for designated
LOBs. - Lead and mentor
staff, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment that
supports individual growth and team success. - Updates the
Director on team activities, campaign results, challenges, and personnel
needs. - Oversees the
planning and execution of special events, including banking center
openings, client appreciation events, and community engagements. - Represents the
Bank in civic and trade organization involvement, establishing and
maintaining positive community relations. - Monitors and
manages LOB budgets, ensuring alignment with the department’s financial
goals and accountability standards. - Manages
relationships with vendors, ensuring adherence to service agreements,
quality standards, and budget requirements. - Regularly
reports to the MarComm Director on project status, resource utilization,
and key milestones. - Assumes
additional responsibilities as assigned to support evolving business
needs. - This
position may require travel within the Bank’s geographic area.
Experience & Education:
- 7+ years of experience in Branding, MarCom, or Advertising, including project management.
- 3-5 years of supervisory and management experience, with proven leadership skills.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic marketing plans, ideally within a financial services or banking context.
- Proficiency in digital marketing, with a solid understanding of SEO, social media, and analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing,
Communications, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong analytical abilities, with experience synthesizing insights into actionable marketing strategies.
- Proficient in managing relationships with external advertising agencies and vendors.
- Superior writing, communication, and copywriting skills; adept at balancing multiple deadlines.
- Self-motivated with strong decision-making and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated experience with marketing compliance requirements is preferred.
Knowledge of printing and graphic design techniques is desirable. - Proven management experience, with a history of successfully leading teams to achieve marketing objectives.
Other Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Familiarity with Adobe Professional, Publisher Software, and SharePoint is highly desirable.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
- Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
