Job Description:
The Strategy and Operations Business Partner, Clinical Research serves as a bridge between the Clinical Research and Business Development teams within a community oncology practice. This hybrid role is designed to advance the organization's vision of integrating clinical research into routine oncology care by driving patient access, strengthening referral pathways, and creating sustainable growth opportunities for the research program and responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that increase clinical trial enrollment, expand referral networks, improve patient access to research opportunities, and support the continued growth of the research program.
The individual will use data-driven analysis, relationship development, and innovative problem-solving to identify opportunities for growth, strengthen physician and community engagement, and enhance the overall visibility and performance of the research department. This position reports directly to the Research Department with a dotted-line reporting relationship to Business Development.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to increase patient enrollment across the clinical trial portfolio.
- Analyze enrollment trends and identify barriers to recruitment.
- Collaborate with physicians, research staff, navigators, and operational leaders to optimize patient identification and trial matching processes.
- Establish and monitor enrollment goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify opportunities to expand access to research within existing patient populations and new service lines.
- Partner with Business Development leadership to develop referral strategies that support research growth.
- Evaluate disease-specific enrollment opportunities and recommend strategic growth initiatives.
- Develop outreach initiatives to increase awareness of available clinical trials among referring providers.
- Create innovative programs and partnerships that drive patient referrals and research participation.
- Represent the research program at community events, physician meetings, and networking opportunities.
Strategic Growth & Market Development
- Assess market opportunities and identify areas for expansion of research services.
- Monitor industry trends, sponsor demands, and competitive research landscapes.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for new research programs, partnerships, and service offerings.
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Establish measurable objectives and ROI metrics for growth initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between Research, Operations, Marketing, Physician Leadership, and Business Development.
- Collaborate with research leadership to align growth initiatives with organizational goals.
- Support the development of marketing and educational materials promoting clinical research opportunities.
- Assist in strategic planning efforts for the research department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Life Sciences, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clinical research, oncology, healthcare business development, or healthcare operations.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and patient recruitment strategies.
- Experience analyzing data and developing performance metrics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
