Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineering Manager to lead & execute complex structural design and analysis activities across customer-driven engineering projects and internal product development programs. This role requires a strong balance of technical depth and leadership capability, with a focus on delivering innovative, efficient, and certifiable structural solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural analysis, method development, and engineering tool creation, along with a solid understanding of product development and certification processes. This role also involves leading and mentoring engineering teams while driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and execute structural engineering teams across multiple projects and programs
• Demonstrate deep expertise in metallic and composite aircraft structures, including design principles and failure mechanisms
• Extensive expertise in structural methods, with hands-on experience in developing structural analysis methodologies and engineering tools
• Lead structural strength and damage tolerance assessments for both metallic and composite structures
• Apply advanced knowledge of damage tolerance methodologies, including crack growth, residual strength, and life prediction approaches
• Support and guide certification activities with a strong understanding of aircraft damage tolerance certification requirements (e.g., FAR/CS 25)
• Oversee the development of material allowables, from coupon level through element, subcomponent, and full-scale testing
• Ensure structural compliance through all levels of testing, from material characterization to full-scale structural tests
• Design and define structural test programs, including test methods, load cases, and acceptance criteria
• Lead and support execution of structural tests and ensure proper instrumentation, data acquisition, and test quality
• Perform correlation of analysis with test results and refine models/methods accordingly
• Provide technical leadership in structural test validation, certification support, and airworthiness compliance
• Develop and deliver complex structural design and analysis solutions for customer projects
• Oversee structural analysis activities, including strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance assessments
• Drive the development and validation of advanced structural analysis methods and approaches
• Develop and implement engineering tools and automation solutions based on analysis methodologies (e.g., scripting, coding)
• Ensure alignment with product development processes, from concept design through certification and production
• Support and contribute to certification activities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality engineering
• Review and approve technical deliverables, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with requirements
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical growth and engineering best practices
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on analysis and design
• Proven experience in developing structural analysis methods and engineering tools
• Strong background in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus)
• Experience with programming/scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar) for engineering applications
• Solid understanding of product development lifecycle and certification processes (preferably in aerospace or similar regulated industries)
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing engineering teams
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver practical and innovative solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working on customer-driven engineering projects is highly preferred
