Position Summary
Support recruitment, outreach, and student success initiatives within the college service area based primarily out of the Cape Girardeau and Perryville Outreach Centers in collaboration with Outreach Center leadership. Service areas including Cape County, Perry County, and Ste. Genevieve County. Provide prospective and current students with information regarding college programs, admissions processes, and available student resources while assisting with outreach activities, student engagement, and enrollment support efforts.
Key Performance Indicators
- Support enrollment growth initiatives at the Cape Girardeau and Perryville Outreach Centers through outreach and recruitment activities.
- Support student retention efforts through proactive communication, referrals, and student engagement.
- Maintain positive student satisfaction and customer service outcomes.
- Maintain accurate recruiting visit data, including volume, date, and location of recruitment activities.
- Assist leadership in gathering and reviewing recruitment and registration data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Coordinate and provide campus visits and tours at the Cape and Perryville Outreach Centers.
- Provide recommendations for operational and student engagement improvements. Program recruiting (full programs with active wait lists of interested students for limited seated programs)
- Recruit prospective students and provide program information to community members and partner organizations under the direction of Outreach Center leadership.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with public, private, and homeschool systems within the college service area, with a focus on Cape Girardeau and Perryville.
- Assist with planning and implementation of recruitment activities, student engagement programs, and outreach initiatives.
- Meet with prospective students individually and in groups, in person or virtually, to discuss college access, academic programs, admissions procedures, and available student resources. Follow up on student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Conduct high school visits, attend college fairs, and participate in community outreach events. Coordinate recruitment schedules and activities with supervisory leadership.
- Provide high school counselors and community partners with updated college materials and information regarding programs, courses, and services.
- Coordinate and conduct campus visits and tours for prospective students and guests. Follow up with participants after visits as appropriate.
- Support student retention efforts by connecting students with appropriate campus resources and services to promote persistence and completion.
- Assist students with admissions processes, financial aid referrals, and general enrollment procedures.
- Participate in outreach presentations, information fairs, orientation events, and other recruitment-related activities. Occasional evening and weekend participation may be required.
- Provide basic student success support related to study skills, time management, and college readiness while referring students to appropriate academic and student support services as needed.
- Assist with new student orientation programs and student engagement activities.
- Participate in committee work and collaborative enrollment initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with outreach marketing initiatives, recruitment materials, and event promotion efforts. Provide feedback regarding student engagement and recruitment outcomes.
- Assist with community engagement activities, outreach events, and promotional efforts that support student recruitment and retention.
- Provide operational support and assist with day-to-day Outreach Center functions in the absence of supervisory personnel, within established procedures and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain accurate knowledge of college programs, services, and student resources.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and maintain positive professional relationships with students, staff, and community stakeholders.
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with individuals and groups.
Demonstrate organizational skills necessary to coordinate outreach activities, events, and student engagement efforts.
Maintain professionalism, responsiveness, and confidentiality in all interactions.
Ability to travel within the College service area and participate in occasional evening and weekend activities.
Interpersonal skills:
Provide timely and responsive support to prospective and current students.
Build positive working relationships with students, staff, school personnel, and community partners.
Demonstrate initiative in connecting students with institutional resources and support services.
Maintain effective presentation and communication skills in both small and large group settings.
Technical skills:
Maintain proficiency with communication technologies, student information systems, and data tracking tools.
Utilize computer systems and reporting tools to document outreach activities and student interactions.
Maintain basic knowledge of office procedures, reporting processes, and institutional systems.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
Work Experience:
At least one year of experience in customer service, student services, recruitment, education, or related fields preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience with education a plus
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Working in a professional office environment this position requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, light lifting, grasping, talking, seeing, hearing and repetitive motion.
Position may require flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekend hours to accommodate student recruitment and campus activities.
