Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus,GA, for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
- In-depth knowledge of field compensation procedures, policies, practices, and systems
- In-depth knowledge of applicable state and agency laws, regulations and reporting requirements related to the administration of field compensation
- In-depth knowledge of the processes, procedures, laws and regulations governing deductions for garnishments, child support and other required associate deductions
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to field compensation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, mathematical, and reasoning skills
- Strong project planning and management skills
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively and negotiate with internal/external customers and senior management
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree In a related field
- 4 years of job specific experience
- 3 years of experience in a leadership/senior/supervisory role
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises, motivates, coaches, and develops the Field Compensation team responsible for compensation administration for Aflac’s field force; oversees the processing of direct deposits, tax withholding, deductions and reconciliations; supervises the processing of field force compensation payments (commissions, overrides, training allowances, incentives, bonuses, etc.); ensures compensation records adhere to company guidelines and all information is maintained as confidential; handles escalated inquiries regarding field force compensation
- Ensures field force compensation is processed in a timely and cost effective manner; coordinates all required data and ensures the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of field force compensation; ensures payment and deduction accuracy and confirms calculations; maintains an effective and continuous audit process that ensures all compensation related activity within the department is reviewed and approved in accordance with established and documented policies and procedures; oversees reconciliation of clearing accounts
- Ensures that consistent and constructive feedback is provided to employees through performance evaluations and other means of communication; monitors progress of new employees and identifies training needs of new and experienced employees; prepares monthly productivity and quality reports for management review; assists with field compensation training for Call Center employees
- Establishes guidelines for review and approval of all daily transactions submitted for payment and account reconciliation, in accordance with company policies and procedures; approves wire transfers; establishes priorities and schedules daily work flow and assignments to ensure that quality standards, production goals, and deadlines are met; maintains operating logs and required transaction documentation; performs random audits on documents prepared and transactions processed to ensure that established guidelines and changes are communicated and practiced, and errors or rework are kept at a minimum; identifies opportunities for employee retraining and cross training; works with other departments collecting or providing information, performing research to resolve complex account discrepancies, explain variances, and respond to associates’ inquiries
- Communicates extensively with employees, field force associates, and other administrative departments and external agencies to provide information and resolve issues; reviews complaints and inquiries to identify trends and makes recommendations for enhancing department services and/or programs; assists with the development and implementation of approved plans and the annual budget to support the achievement of department/division goals; leads and/or participates on projects and service teams necessary to support and improve existing processes and programs; maintains adequate control of resources to ensure ongoing operations of the department within established budget, productivity, and efficiency standards
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with field force and vendors to proactively address issues that may impact the quality and growth of the department’s business or result in costly penalties and fines from regulatory agencies; manages reissues to ensure correct payment of field force
- Performs other duties as required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $61,100 to $81,100. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
