Job Description

Salary Range: $56,000.00 to $71,500.00 

Location

Richmond, VA; This position will follow a hybrid work-from-home/office model with at least three days in the office weekly 

Role Summary

The purpose of this position is to support execution of internal audit engagements and projects within ONE NA and its affiliates.  The position requires a highly motivated, articulate individual who can work independently and within a team environment on various ONE operational, financial, and compliance engagements to identify, validate and document internal control and process enhancement opportunities. Further, this individual will be required to manage key departmental administrative files and documents, including those tracking risk assessments, management actions and stakeholder communications.

Core Required Skills and Competencies

Support Internal Audit management in execution of internal audits, compliance initiatives, special projects, and related activities for ONE NA and affiliated businesses and operations, consistent with departmental policies, SOPs and guidelines. Accordingly, the candidate is expected to:

  • Execute engagement procedures for review and approval of IA management

  • Document and confirm observations during engagements in preparation for client and leadership communications and reporting

  • Identify and analyze potential issues and work with IA Management to determine improvement opportunities within business processes by comparing policies and procedures, financial/operational/compliance information, industry trends, and best practices

  • Participate in business projects and activities as required by IA Management, providing direction and implementation support for enterprise initiatives on behalf of Internal Audit

  • Maintain and manage key departmental administrative files and documents such as project templates, tracking files, policies and SOPs, for efficient utilization

Function Specific Skills

  • Proficient with common business software packages, spreadsheets, data manipulation/analytics

  • Solid communication skills listening, oral, and writing

  • Good interpersonal relationship building capability 

  • Ability to contribute within a team-oriented environment 

  • Ability to interpret engagement or project changes and adapt accordingly

Required Minimum Years Experience

2+ years of experience in auditing operational, finance, and compliance processes and/or shipping industry background is highly desirable.

Required Minimum Education

BS/BA degree required, and Finance, Accounting or relevant business-related discipline preferred

ONE NA follows a hybrid work schedule requiring employees to work 3 days in the office (i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote each week.
