Role Summary: 

The Inventory Control Supervisor will manage all contractual inventory counting for clients, meeting all requirements set forth in client contracts with available resources. The Supervisor will manage employee timecards, time off, pay, provide daily direction to employees to complete required goals successfully. The Supervisor will be responsible for employees performing quality audits on outbound shipments.  

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Plan and execute effective, efficient cycle counting activities and physical inventories.  

  • Report results in a timely and informative manner. 

  • Ensure cycle count efficiency improvement and manage labor spend against a set budget 

  • Assist Inventory Control Manager in planning, prioritizing and communicating directives to ensure efficiency and accuracy for cycle count activities, variance resolution, and physical inventories 

  • Assist Inventory Control Manager in monitoring and controlling security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review 

  • Interface with operations and finance groups on the implementation of inventory control initiatives 

  • Ensure all inventory control employees receive proper training, skill development and assessment. 

  • Support process improvement initiatives (root cause analysis) and audit activities performed by inventory audit team 

  • Ensure effective cycle count variance tracking and resolution, and consistent and accurate use of adjustment codes 

  • Responsible for periodic reporting of cycle count and inventory control performance metrics 

  • Interact with fulfillment operations and other internal departments at various organization levels 

  • Execute and provide input to the strategic plans and objectives of the function 

  • Performs special projects as assigned by Inventory Control Manager 

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and outside the organization with strong interpersonal skills 

  • Demonstrate experience in leading major initiatives through effective project involvement and management 

  • Ability to multi-task, delegate and supervise employees in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Experience with WMS, AS400 and Windows environments 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred, in Business or equivalent experience in a related field. 

  • 3-4 years of Inventory Control Supervisory experience in distribution or fulfillment operations 

  • Proven skills in supervision, team building, and producing positive results 

  • Ability to identify areas of opportunities and to work independently and demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
