Duties

Plans, organizes, and oversees section level activities in the USSOCOM Chief Data Office, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities Represents the USSOCOM Chief Data Office with a variety of installation and functional area organizations Serves as USSOCOM Artificial Intelligence(AI), Machine Learning(ML) and Data Science(DS) Subject Matter Expert. Utilizes scientific inquiry in the independent development of policy, guidance, and integration initiatives to support AI/ML/DS assigned projects, studies, or problems. Incumbent is responsible to ensure the core classified national information protection security disciplines of information are fully covered from a policy and programmatic viewpoint to ensure overall information protection requirements meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

Examples of specialized experience includes managing professional and administrative work involving Artificial Intelligence(AI), Machine Learning(ML) and Data Service research/development for all aspects of the organization operations. Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of AI and ML initiatives. Plans and schedules work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities. Identifies employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training to maintain and improve job performance. Initiates and formulates plans and carries out project(s) through extensive and specialized original performance analyses and evaluations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with AI/ML experts across government, including Intelligence Community, DoD, all service components, and major commands. Analyzes documents and ensure the sensitivity of documents if protected from unauthorized users. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of agency, AF, DoD and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s) Ability to effectively organize and analyze information; produce authoritative reports, positions papas, and briefings that are responsive to the specific needs of commanders and senior management officials; present clear and concise findings; and effectively advocate for a position. Skill, judgement, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology and in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues or problems. Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objuecitve within available resources. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
