About the Role:

The Surface Mobile Pickup/Tractor Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a variety of surface mobile equipment, including pickups, tractors, and related machinery, to ensure operational efficiency and safety. The mechanic will work closely with operations teams to prioritize repairs and maintain a reliable fleet that supports daily surface activities. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic specializing in surface mobile equipment or heavy machinery.
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on pickups and tractors.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification from a recognized automotive or heavy equipment mechanic program (e.g., ASE certification).
Experience working in industrial, mining, or surface operations environments.
Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment and maintenance management systems.
Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on surface mobile pickups, tractors, and related equipment.

Replace or repair defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering components.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.
Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies necessary for maintenance and repairs.
Continuously update technical knowledge and skills to keep pace with evolving equipment technologies.
