Job Description:

  • Provides oversight and leadership for less than 10 APPs or at discretion of department
  • Maintains regulatory files for APPs in service line.
  • Works with lead to recruit and hire APPs, establishes work schedules, supervises staff performance, participates in performance evaluations, and determines and disseminates quality activities and design for assigned staff.
  • Provide formal and informal clinical instruction, coaching and mentoring on all shifts
  • Develops and monitors individual APP goals for clinical practice and professional development and provides feedback during annual performance review process regarding goal achievement.
  • Supervises educational activities for the service line
  • Works with Lead and Chief to formulate plan for professional development.
  • Participate in leadership development programs, required meetings and annual retreats
  • Oversees clinical scheduling for designated areas to ensure adequate patient coverage
  • Other duties as assigned 0.05 - 0.2 FTE admin time depending on section/department size

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife, or CRNA/AA
  • Masters degree or higher
  • PALS, BLS, or ACLS may be required in some areas.
  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), or as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), or as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA), or as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
