Description

Tharros is seeking a Tactical Network and Computer Systems Architect to design and implement weapons systems airborne and air-to-ground data communications networks and operating systems supporting NAWCAD Cyber Warfare Division programs at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

 

The Architect role requires specialized expertise in weapons systems network design, emulation/virtualization, and security architecture. The Architect acts as functional team lead for teams performing weapons systems network architecture functions, coordinating cross-functional planning between weapons systems networks, test and evaluation networks, and data communications infrastructure.

 

  • Design and implement weapons systems airborne and air-to-ground data communications networks and operating systems
  • Perform weapons systems data network emulation/virtualization, analysis, and planning
  • Design weapons systems and associated network and computer security measures
  • Analyze systems, sensor, network and server resource consumption and control user access
  • Install and upgrade systems software and maintain software configuration management
  • Assist in network emulation/virtualization, analysis, planning, and coordination between weapons systems networks, associated test and evaluation networks, and data communications hardware and software
  • Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software for weapons systems applications
  • Coordinate and oversee the tasking of other team members performing architecture functions.
  • Track project progress and participate in planning projects, resourcing, and events.

Requirements

  • Active TS, SCI Eligible
  • DCWF qualification: CSWF Code 451, 651, 652
  • Additional certification: Privileged Access (per Section 3.4.1.5) with Microsoft or Linux OS certification
  • 7 years of experience performing work related to network architecture and design, OR meets military equivalent OJT requirement
  • At least 3 years of total experience in at least two of the following: weapons systems airborne/air-to-ground data comms network design and implementation; weapons systems data network emulation/virtualization; weapons systems network/computer security design; systems software configuration management; network emulation/virtualization coordination between weapons systems and T&E networks
