Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location: Oakes Kia | North Kansas City, MO
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $45,000–$55,000 annually

Oakes Auto Group is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to help attract, engage, and hire top talent across our growing dealership group. In this role, you'll be at the center of our hiring process, working with candidates from their first application through onboarding while partnering with hiring managers to keep our recruiting efforts organized, efficient, and people-focused. What You’ll Do

  • Review applications and screen candidates for a wide variety of positions across the organization.

  • Guide qualified candidates through our structured Road to Hire process while providing consistent communication and support.

  • Review Culture Index results using established company guidelines.

  • Schedule interviews, coordinate calendars, send interview reminders, and collect manager feedback.

  • Upload resumes and maintain accurate candidate records within Hireology and other recruiting systems.

  • Open, update, and close job postings while managing the evergreen posting schedule.

  • Maintain recruiting spreadsheets, reports, and hiring trackers.

  • Initiate and monitor background checks and assist with offer letter coordination.

  • Re-engage previous candidates when new career opportunities become available.

  • Support career fairs, hiring events, school partnerships, and community recruiting initiatives.

  • Respond promptly to candidate questions while delivering a positive, professional hiring experience.

  • Partner closely with the Recruiting Manager and hiring leaders to meet staffing goals across multiple dealership locations.

Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, customer service, sales, or administrative support is preferred but not required. We'll provide the training—you bring the motivation, organization, and drive to succeed.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to pass a standard background check

  • Strong reliability and consistent attendance

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software systems

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Previous recruiting, staffing, human resources, customer service, sales, or administrative experience preferred
