Cummins Worldwide is a full-service company providing integrated solutions in Accounting, Human Resources, Tax and Legacy Planning, and Wealth Management through one experienced team.

With decades of expertise and a commitment to complete visibility, we help individuals, families, and businesses simplify complex financial and operational needs without the hassle of coordinating multiple firms. Our mission is to provide exceptional client service through accuracy, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our growing Tax Department. This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in tax preparation who is eager to continue developing into a well-rounded tax professional.

In this role, you will prepare tax returns, conduct tax research, communicate with clients, assist with IRS correspondence, and support tax planning and advisory projects. You'll work closely with our Director of Tax Strategy while gaining exposure to advanced areas of taxation and becoming an integral part of our expanding Financial Services Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Preparation & Research: Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and other tax returns while conducting tax research and identifying potential tax planning opportunities.

  • Client Communication: Communicate professionally with clients to gather information, provide updates, draft clear client-friendly correspondence, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items.

  • Project & File Management: Maintain organized client files, detailed documentation, IRS correspondence, and project tracking while ensuring deadlines are consistently met.

  • Critical Thinking & Quality Control: Review financial information, identify inconsistencies, ask thoughtful questions, and apply sound professional judgment before returns are finalized.

  • Continuous Learning: Expand your knowledge of tax law, software, IRS procedures, trust taxation, and advisory services while contributing to the continued growth and efficiency of the Tax Department.

You're the One If You:

  • Have at least three tax seasons preparing individual income tax returns.

  • Have experience preparing business tax returns (Forms 1120S, 1065, and 1120) or are excited to develop those skills.

  • Possess strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to research tax issues rather than making assumptions.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy building professional relationships with clients and teammates.

  • Aspire to become a well-rounded tax professional and are interested in eventually earning the Enrolled Agent (EA) credential or other advanced tax certifications.

What You'll Get

  • Competitive weekly pay (every Friday)

  • Long-term career opportunity with significant professional growth

  • Mentorship from experienced tax professionals

  • Exposure to tax planning, IRS representation, trust taxation, and advisory services

  • A collaborative team environment focused on learning and excellence

  • The opportunity to help build and grow an expanding Financial Services Division.
