Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

The Technical Director (TD) will oversee the management of all
current & future Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business (CEMB)
technical facilities, equipment, physical assets, & manage all associated
technical and equipment managers, contractors, and student workers. The TD
will streamline systems & processes, equipment, budgets, software programs
& maintenance across all of the CEMB facilities and assets, and align
with the needs of the college. 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Manage the team of Curb College technical and equipment
managers who oversee the varied & diverse audio, video, film, and event
production spaces. The TD provides leadership and support to employees with
varying levels of expertise & autonomy. This position works closely with
Department Chairs and Directors to ensure that current & future curricular and college needs are supported. 

2.Troubleshoot complex technical issues, find innovative
solutions, & ensure system robustness. Research and implement new
technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality. Work with
Technical Managers to cultivate and secure relationships with external
vendors and partners for equipment upgrades, demos, maintenance, and repair. Provide support & expertise to Dean, Senior Director, and architects on all renovations and new construction projects.

3. Streamline systems and processes for managing
equipment, software needs, managing budgets, and maintenance across all Curb
College Facilities. Work closely with the Budget Manager & Senior Director
to ensure proper use of funds and adherence to key deadlines. Plan and manage technical projects from the initial design to its final implementation and ensure that specifications, deadlines, and budgets are being met.
Provide updates and reports to senior leadership detailing progress,
challenges, and recommendations.

4. Assist the Senior Director in the daily operations of the
College, as well as support special projects and events. Work with Belmont
technical managers, facility managers, and other University partner
departments to provide support for important initiatives and activities that
enhance the student experience. Serve as a primary technical contact and liaison with OSVES and other units for collaborative events and activities.

    Technical, Computer, and Software Skills: Ability to use Microsoft
    Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.
    Ability to use AVID (Pro Tools,
    Media Composer, etc.) Ability to use
    both PC and Mac. Experience with
    scheduling and inventory software.
    Understanding of computer, audio,
    and video networking. Ability to
    troubleshoot complex technical
    problems.

    Required EducationBachelors Degree in a technical entertainment related field or equivalent.

      
    Required Experience10-15 Years strategic leadership, managing complex projects, budgets, and/or highly technical entertainment building spaces - recording studios, film facilities, live event production venues, or equivalent. Supervisory experience with direct reports. Preferably has experience in industry and higher-ed environments.
