Job Description

Job Description

At Deque, you’ll work with the brightest minds in the industry, sharing best practices, tackling new issues and uncovering new approaches in digital accessibility. Deque experts are thought leaders regularly contributing to W3C Accessibility Working Groups and collectively hold more CPACC, WAS, & CPWA certifications issued by the IAAP than any accessibility testing company in the world.

These are exciting times at Deque, with significant customer momentum and a ton of technical innovation. Generative AI is transforming this space—first by increasing efficiency for developers, designers, testers, and accessibility leaders within the SDLC, and second, by enabling creators to deliver experiences that are natively accessible from day one. Our Axe DevTools portfolio sits at the center of that shift, and we are investing heavily in AI-powered capabilities that help developers find and fix accessibility issues earlier and faster.

Technical Product Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Technical Product Marketing Manager to own go-to-market for our Axe DevTools portfolio, with a strong focus on its AI features. This is a more technical product marketing role than most: we want someone who has lived close to product and engineering, understands the software development lifecycle deeply, and can credibly market to developers and the managers who lead them. You will report to the Head of Product Marketing and work closely with product management, engineering, services experts, sales, solution engineers, and the demand generation team. The team structure is flat and collaborative.

The ideal candidate is hands-on and curious about AI—not just as a subject they market, but as a discipline they practice. We want a PMM who is actively experimenting with AI tools, building new skills, and helping redefine what product marketing can do.

How you will contribute

  • Own the Axe DevTools GTM: Become the go-to expert on the Axe DevTools portfolio, with deep focus on its AI features. Partner with product management, engineering, and enablement to shape positioning, messaging, and launch strategy that resonates with developers and developer managers.

  • Demo and evangelize the product: Build and deliver your own technical demos of Axe DevTools — in videos, webinars, and live sessions — that show real developer workflows, including how AI accelerates finding and fixing accessibility issues inside the SDLC.

  • Personas and voice of the customer: Partner with product management and services to become an expert on the developer, developer-manager, and accessibility-leader personas across the buyer and user journey.

  • Launches: Lead launch project management, messaging development, and content creation for new Axe DevTools releases and AI capabilities.

  • Marketing content development: Plan campaigns and develop content assets — ebooks, blogs, whitepapers, web content, webinars, tutorials, and product walkthroughs — for the complete buyer journey, with the right depth for users and buyers.

  • AI in the SDLC point of view: Track how development processes are changing as AI is embedded into them, and translate that into messaging, content, and competitive positioning for Axe DevTools.

  • Competitive marketing: Develop competitive content for Axe DevTools, informing product and sales teams.

  • Win/loss analysis: Partner with sales to understand why we win or lose deals, turning insights into improvements for our go-to-market activities.

  • Sales enablement: Work with sales, accessibility experts, and solution engineers to develop battlecards, solution collateral, use cases, customer studies, and TCO/ROI assets that progress deals.

  • Channel / partner marketing: Develop battlecards, solution collateral, and other assets to support partner and field sales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product marketing and technical marketing experience

  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ideally from time spent at a software development, testing, or quality-engineering company.

  • Demonstrated experience marketing to developers and developer managers.

  • Proven ability to build and deliver your own product demos, webinars, videos, technical collateral, and ROI/value-oriented assessments

  • Embedded in the AI ecosystem: hands-on experience with developer AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar, and a clear understanding of how AI is changing development workflows.

  • AI builder mindset: actively experimenting with AI and eager to build skills that expand what product marketing can do.

  • Startup mindset: demonstrated curiosity, eagerness to learn, and the ability to adapt quickly to change and recover from setbacks.

  • Product or engineering background: previously held a role in product management, sat on a product management team, or worked as a developer — someone who truly understands what goes into building products and has influenced product roadmaps.

  • Experience at a software testing, functional testing, or software development company, with a strong grasp of how developers work.

  • Some experience with accessibility testing tools or the broader accessibility space.
