ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Deliver instructor-led classroom and hands-on technical training for new Operations employees, with an initial focus on Automation Technicians.
· Coordinate the daily operation of the Operations Training Cell by assigning training exercises, monitoring trainee progress, providing coaching, and ensuring a safe learning environment.
· Evaluate trainee technical competency through observation, practical exercises, and qualification standards as applicable. Recommend employee readiness for transition into production.
· Assess learning needs through collaboration with Operations leaders and subject matter experts to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
· Develop, implement, and maintain standardized onboarding programs, technical training curriculum, On-the-Job Training (OJT) guides, qualification checklists, and work instructions.
· Design and develop quality learning materials which may include facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, reference guides, presentations, videos, and other instructional resources.
· Develop and maintain a training tracking system to monitor employee qualifications, training completion, and identified skill gaps.
· Enhance, revise, and maintain training content, SOPs, work instructions and supplemental documentation to ensure materials remain accurate, standardized, and aligned with business needs.
· Collaborate with Operations leadership, Engineering, and subject matter experts to develop consistent technical training processes and best practices.
· Facilitate technical training sessions and support the development of internal trainers as the Operations training program matures.
· Establish methods to evaluate training effectiveness and utilize performance metrics and feedback to continuously improve training programs and employee development.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve onboarding, technical training, workforce capability, and manufacturing best practices.
· Assist in maintaining manufacturing documentation and standard operating procedures related to technical training and production processes.
· Communicate training progress, program status, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practice solutions that improve employee development and operational performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related discipline) with a minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, automation, robotics, technical training, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience developing and delivering technical training programs or on-the-job training is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop technical training materials and learning content. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word & SharePoint is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information from engineering drawings, technical manuals, standard operating procedures, and related documentation. Strong technical writing skills with the ability to develop clear training materials, work instructions, and on-the-job training (OJT) documentation. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills with he ability to effectively deliver classroom and hands-on technical training to employees with varying levels of experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial automation, robotics, and continuous improvement principles. Ability to effectively coach, mentor and develop employees in both classroom and hands-on learning environments. Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical training. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
Experience with robot-specific programming languages, industrial automation systems, or electromechanical assembly and troubleshooting is preferred. Experience creating technical documentation, work instructions, and standardized training materials is highly desirable.
