Richland Library is seeking to hire a Full-Time Teen Center Librarian at our Main location.
Sample Duties:
This position will assist customers with finding and using library materials and spaces effectively, provide readers’ advisory and maintain in-depth knowledge of Teen Center collections
Assist in the maintenance of teen spaces
Work with finance software to order and ensure correct delivery of supplies
Assist with maintenance and development of teen collections.
Collaborate with other departments and outside agencies
Deliver high-quality customer service to customers of all ages
Ensure appropriate use of age-restricted spaces within library
Arrange and deliver presentations, visits, and outreach efforts
Contribute to ongoing evaluation of teen space in light of teen needs and customer feedback
Develop and implement programming for teens, students, and families
Supervise staff and spaces in absence of higher-level supervisors
Assist with development and delivery of staff training materials
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS)
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
MLIS degree supplemented by related experience.
Location, Salary & Hours:
Where: Richland Library Main, Teen Center, 1431 Assembly St, Columbia, SC 29201
Salary range: $41,925 - $69,876 per year excellent benefits.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week plus rotating weekends:
Monday (12:00 pm - 8:00 pm), Tuesday - Thursday (9:00 am - 5:30 pm), Friday (9:00 am - 6:00 pm); Every 4th Weekend Saturday (9:00 am - 6:00 pm) and Sunday (1:45 pm - 6:00 pm).
Job Classification Level 111 (FLSA Status: Non-Exempt)
** Richland Library may change location and schedule of any library job.
