The purpose of the Telecommunicator/ 911 is to perform emergency communications task for the Sauk County Sheriff's Office.
**Dispatchers will work a 4 days on/2 days off rotating schedule.
**This vacancy is for third shift (10:30pm to 6:30am).

Position Duties
• Prioritize phone calls based on urgency and maintain telephone contacts with callers during dangerous situations.
• Document reports taken regarding juvenile runaways, warrant services, and other important situations, and forward the information to the appropriate personnel.
• Utilize the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division 131 dispatch center.
• Track status of County Deputies, police, and other emergency personnel regarding availability, location, and work schedule.
• Provide information to deputies and police regarding outstanding warrants, suspect/subject data, driver and vehicle information, and complaint investigations.
• Enter missing persons, stolen vehicles, guns, articles, and various other items into the Transaction Information for the Management of Enforcement (TIME) System as required by the Wisconsin Department of Justice- Crime Information Bureau.
• Monitor National Warning System (NAWAS) weather services, activate warning sirens and issue warnings to emergency personnel in Sauk and surrounding Counties.
• Assist with setting up transportation for Chapter 51 commitments, inmates, suspects, detainees, and prisoner transports.
• Test emergency personnel radio and paging system.
• Perform monthly validation of Crime Investigation Bureau/National Crime Information Center (CIB/NCIC) Records.
• Enter Temporary Restraining Orders and Injunctions into CIB/NCIC and validate for accuracy.
• And other duties as assigned
Required Working Hours
Standard working hours may vary between first shift, second shift, and third shift. Please note these hours are subject to change and additional hours may be needed or required. Emergency on call may be needed. Compensation beyond normal hours will be subject to applicable state and federal regulations
Other Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Certifications:
Become TIME certified within 6 months of start date. Become a Notary Public within 6 months of start date.
Preferred:
Any form of law enforcement or emergency services experience
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
