Whatcom County is seeking to hire a Law Librarian to work in a part-time, Temporary Extra Help capacity for the Whatcom County Law Library.

The Law Librarian is relied upon to manage Law Library operations and provide effective legal reference services to all library patrons, including the general public, legal community, County employees, Inmates, and paralegal students. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Identify patron needs, and assists groups and individuals in using Library services
- Assists patrons with legal research techniques and navigation of physical and digital resources
- Maintains Library’s collection in an established system, controlling inventory and circulation of reference materials
- Exercises independent judgment in analyzing problems, issues and situations; develops and implements recommendations
- Assists management and collaborates with other County Departments
- Coordinate, attend, and take meeting minutes for Law Library Board of Trustees
- Complies with legal standards and requirements.

Hours of Work:This position will work approximately 16 hours per week, up to a maximum of 69 hours per month, on an on-going basis.Visit the Job Description Page to view more details about this specific job.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires two years of progressively responsible college, technical, legal, or law library experience AND a Bachelor’s degree in library science.
Background check must meet County criteria.
