The Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a TES Engineering Technician position. The selected candidate will provide technical assistance with ongoing projects; examples include, but are not limited to, providing electrical and electronic support and performing maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
Responsibilities
Essential functions but not limited to the following:
- Provide electrical and electronic support
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
- Assist with installation and fabrication of equipment
- Assist with preparing specification and parts lists, and procure parts and supplies for fabrication shop
- Oversees the cleanliness and presentability of Biosystems Engineering laboratories
- Assist with managing Biosystems Engineering vehicle fleet
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department head
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in a technical or scientific field.
- Two years of experience in fabrication, equipment troubleshooting, and electrical systems
- Valid driver’s license
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to use and operate machining shop equipment/tools such as lathes, milling machines, and welders.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally during the term of employment.
