Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility provides skilled long term and short-term care to residents in a beautiful household environment. We are accepting applications for new employees that are seeking employment in our Activity department within the facility.
The Activity positions are currently available on the day shift with flexible hours, up to 24 hours a week.
Requirements
- Will implement therapeutic recreation programs designed to meet the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial needs of residents in accordance with their comprehensive assessments. This will include weekend and evening programs.
- Counsels and encourages residents to develop leisure activities.
- Organizes and coordinates special outings and accompanies residents on outings.
- Assists the T.R. Director with special requests, projects and events.
- Attends inservice programs and meetings scheduled for T.R. staff.
- Transports and assists residents to and from programs.
- Responsible to observe and follow infection control, safety policies and procedures.
- Works with volunteers to assist with programs.
- Plan, schedule and implement room visits and in-room activities for residents unable to leave their rooms.
- Maintain an activity attendance record for each resident.
- Maintain an adequate supply of materials to implement activity programs.
- Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect; know and comply with all Resident's Rights rules; and promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurse.
- Observes infection control procedures in maintaining equipment/props used by residents during activity programs.
- Reports special resident problems to the Therapeutic Recreation Director or the Charge Nurse on duty.
- Must have regular and timely attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
