Production Team Leader

Position Title: Production Team Leader
Department: Production
Status: Full-Time, non-exempt
Reports To: Operations Director

Position Summary

The Production Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. This role serves as the primary liaison between management and production employees, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve production goals, maintain quality standards, and promote a positive and productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support production personnel to achieve daily production goals. 
  • Serve as the primary communication link between management and the production team. 
  • Coordinate and monitor daily production activities to ensure work orders are completed accurately and on schedule. 
  • Assist with planning labor allocation, staffing needs, and material requirements. 
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and company procedures. 
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company expectations. 
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, training, and mentorship to support individual and team development. 
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Assist in maximizing the efficient use of equipment, materials, and labor resources. 
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. 
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required. 
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. 
Requirements

  

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency in      English and Spanish preferred. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executives, managers, supervisors, and team members. 
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. 
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft      Office applications, including Excel and Word; ability to learn additional software systems as needed. 
  • Ability to maintain productivity standards and support team performance goals. 
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, production, safety, and quality processes preferred. 
  • Flexibility to work overtime, after-hours, or weekends as business needs require. 

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Frequently lift, carry, push,  pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. 
  • Frequently bend, twist, reach, stretch, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements. 
  • Operate production equipment, machinery, and power tools safely. 
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. 
  • Work in a production environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing conditions. 

Typical Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Additional hours, overtime, and weekend work may be required based on production demands and business needs. Work schedules are subject to change with or without advance notice.
