About the Department

Lee County is hiring a Senior Tradesworker for carpentry on our Facilities Construction and Management team.
In this job, you will do repairs, fix problems, and ensure buildings stay safe and comfortable for everyone.
This job is good for someone who likes hands-on work, can solve problems, and enjoys working with building systems.
Position Duties
What You Will Do
- Complete work orders on time.
- Do repair work and preventive maintenance on many types of building systems.
- Respond to customer requests and let them know when work is finished.
- Create and update preventive maintenance schedules.
- Help with daily building operations. This may include plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, streetlights, bridges, painting, elevators, fire systems, and security systems.
- Keep daily logs and maintenance reports.
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance on systems and equipment.
- May supervise other staff, depending on the assignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED or similar experience
- 2 years of experience in carpentry or similar work
Licensing Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building systems like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or automation systems.
- Experience using building monitoring or automation systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance.
Extra Skills
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adjust to different work situations.
- Ability to work on your own and decide the best way to complete tasks.
Other Qualifications
Work Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 6:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
