Job Summary:
The Transportation Business Coordinator at Ocean State Job Lot ("OSJL" and "Company"), is a data-driven role that provides foundational support for the Company’s entire transportation ecosystem, bridging the gap between technology and logistics operations through workflow coordination. This role’s day-to-day responsibilities focus on maintaining operational continuity and optimizing network efficiency through process mapping, data integration monitoring, system error troubleshooting, and the coordination of business intelligence reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track daily data transmissions through Application Programming Interface (“API”), Electronic Data Interchange (“EDI”), and flat files across the Company’s transportation management (“TMS”), warehouse management (“WMS”), and enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) ecosystems. Log technical issues and coordinate with the Company’s Information Technology (“IT”) and external vendors for first-line error resolution.
- Process Documentation & Testing Support: Partner with the Transportation Department’s operational teams (i.e, warehouse, routing, dispatch) to document physical workflows against systemic software logic, and assist in executing test scripts for system upgrades and integration patches.
- Data Integrity & Dashboard Support: Enter data and perform audits and validations across supply chain databases to ensure data accuracy. Assist in the design, refresh, and maintenance of core BI dashboards.
- Metric Tracking & Operational Analysis: Compile and analyze operational and financial datasets to track key performance indicators (“KPI”s), such as carrier compliance, lane costs, transit times, and specialized functions.
- Meeting Preparation & Visual Presentation: Compile and format data-driven visual assets and written summaries for team meetings, operational huddles, and cross-functional updates to help communicate performance trends.
- Reporting Support & Documentation Maintenance: Assist leadership by preparing high-level talking points and progress charts for executive updates, while maintaining the central repository for SOPs, change logs, and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience working in logistics, data analysis, or a distribution center/warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong willingness and aptitude to learn enterprise supply chain systems (e.g., Manhattan Active TMS, WMS, ERPs).
- Basic understanding of or exposure to data integration concepts (e.g., EDI, APIs) or database queries (SQL) is preferred.
- Foundational exposure to Business Intelligence tools or a strong desire to learn them.
- High proficiency with the Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive) or Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Environment:
- Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard
potential. - Works in an office environment remaining stationary at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Frequently uses near vision for reading and computer tasks.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour.
