Job Description

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for end-to-end coordination of shipments of our goods from our Miami Distribution Center to final destination Ports around the world. This individual will be able to work independently and in a dynamic environment to plan, coordinate, create documentation, pre-alert, and insure deliveries are received by our Shipboard Staff on time and in compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the International and Domestic transportation process to ensure timely, and accurate inventory movements, which includes shipment coordination, internal/external communications and preparation of shipping documents for goods movements to/from our storage warehouse and supplier warehouse (Globally) to Port Locations around the world
  • Resolve non-conformance logistics and transportation issues regarding shipments and communicates with supply chain team and compliance Manager as appropriate
  • Ensure all shipments are prepared in compliance with customs regulatory requirements and restrictions for both export and destinations authorities
  • Capture all Logistic Expenses and insure correct pricing logic for monthly shipment cost accruals
  • Maintain tracking and tracing systems for all shipments and revise on a daily basis
  • Provide input to Manager on process enhancement or system weaknesses when identified
  • Provide clear and accurate communications to all ships, vendors, carriers, port agents, and departments regarding the status of inbound / outbound freight

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience coordinating logistics functions required.
  • Prior Freight Forwarding and Export experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified or familiar with DOT/IATA/IMDG shipment processing
  • Experience with AES and INTRA a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with office applications such as Microsoft ,Word and Excel

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills through correspondence with vendors and merchants

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
