Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all outbound and inbound transportation logistics for boat deliveries, warranty pickups, misc. parts. 
  • Create and manage all shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), shortage/damage reports, customer forms, delivery paperwork, and transportation records. 
  • Schedule and optimize truck loads in coordination with operations, production scheduling, and load crews to maximize efficiency and ensure safe transport configurations. 
  • Communicate daily with internal drivers and hot shot drivers/third-party carriers regarding schedules, routes, delays, and delivery expectations. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dealers regarding shipment scheduling, delivery updates, freight issues, and transportation-related customer service. 
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department regarding truck availability, repairs, inspections, DOT compliance, and preventative maintenance scheduling. 
  • Monitor driver trip planning and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hours of service, drive time, rest periods, and state transportation requirements. 
  • Understand stinger laws per state for legal shipments.
  • Assist production scheduling by ensuring planned boat builds and load combinations are compatible with transportation requirements and trailer capacities. 
  • Manage and maintain fleet compliance documentation, including truck insurance, registration, inspections, permits, DOT stickers, and required in-vehicle paperwork. 
  • Review and maintain driver pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports and coordinate corrective actions with maintenance when issues are identified. 
  • Track and communicate shipment statuses to internal departments and dealers to ensure timely and accurate delivery updates. 
  •  
  • Coordinate emergency transportation changes, service issues, delayed deliveries, and problem resolution as needed. 
  • Work to improve freight efficiency, reduce transportation costs, minimize downtime, and maximize truck utilization. 
  • Maintain accurate transportation and delivery, records using company software and tracking systems. 
  • Being available after hours to in the event drivers have issues while going to/ returning from a trip.
