Mi-Jack Products is seeking a Transportation Planner to support the planning, coordination, and optimization of domestic and international transportation operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods while supporting operational efficiency, shipment visibility, and customer satisfaction.
The Transportation Planner will work closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, freight carriers, and logistics partners to coordinate shipments, manage transportation documentation, monitor freight performance, and identify opportunities to improve transportation processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional who enjoys solving problems, building strong working relationships, and keeping complex shipments moving efficiently.
What You'll Do:
- Arrange, schedule, and track shipments, including preparing shipping documentation and coordinating pickups and deliveries.
- Provide timely updates to internal teams and customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, delays, and transportation-related issues.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, including tracking details, delivery dates, transportation costs, and carrier documentation.
- Support transportation claims management for lost or damaged shipments.
- Review and process transportation invoices, including accurate GL coding and freight cost administration.
- Prepare reports and analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, cost savings, and service performance.
- Assist with freight rate benchmarking, carrier sourcing, and transportation contract support.
- Help develop standardized transportation procedures, shipment workflows, load securement practices, and packaging requirements.
- Coordinate heavy equipment transportation using heavy haul trucks, including shipment layouts, routing, scheduling, carrier communication, and loading support.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve transportation issues, improve shipment planning, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Three to five years of transportation management, logistics, supply chain, or related experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment, transportation, or freight operations strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, freight coordination, and logistics best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with transportation management systems and/or ERP systems preferred; Epicor experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, manage changing priorities, and support time-sensitive shipment needs in a fast-paced environment.
- APICS certification preferred.
Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based but may require time in production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or outdoor areas to support equipment measurements, loading activities, shipment planning, and continuous improvement projects. The position may occasionally require lifting up to 50 pounds.

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
