Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Transportation Services Supervisor, the Transportation Services Driver, is responsible for providing transportation to Peach Tree Healthcare (PTH) patients from their homes to PTH’s clinics and vice versa.
Essential Functions
The following duties are fundamental to the position:
Transportation Services
- Operate a motor vehicle to transport passengers safely to and from scheduled destinations
- Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and organizational policies
- Plan and navigate routes to ensure timely service
- Maintain a clean California DMV record in compliance with PTH insurance requirements
Passenger Assistance
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle in a safe and respectful manner
- Provide required level of service (e.g., curb-to-curb or door-to-door) in accordance with policy
- Ensure passengers are properly seated and secured during transport, and confirm all safety restraints (seatbelts, etc.) are in place before driving.
Mobility and Accessibility
- Operate accessibility equipment such as lifts, ramps, and securement systems
- Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices according to safety standards
- Handle mobility aids appropriately
Communication
- Communicate professionally and effectively with passengers, caregivers, dispatch staff, and healthcare providers
- Provide updates regarding delays or service disruptions
- Communicate and non-medical information as needed to ensure patient safety and answer general questions about PTH
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
Scheduling and Reliability
- Report to work as scheduled and complete assigned trips
- Maintain adherence to schedules while adapting to changing conditions
- Coordinate with dispatch regarding trip assignments and changes
Documentation and Compliance
- Complete required logs, trip records, and documentation accurately and timely
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including confidentiality requirements
- Verify trip and passenger information as required
Vehicle Safety and Maintenance
- Conduct routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safe operating condition
- Maintain all safety obligations including vehicle maintenance, fueling and trip logs.
- Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or incidents promptly to the Transportation Services Manager
- Report any accident, regardless of fault, to the Director of Case Management as soon as safely possible following the accident.
Emergency Response
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency or safety situations
- Follow established procedures for reporting incidents and requesting assistance
- Maintain awareness of passenger safety throughout transport

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean CA DMV Driving Report with ability to maintain clean driving record.
- Prior transportation experience preferred.
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to comply with all transportation safety requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (may be obtained after hire)
- Driver Safety Training (may be obtained after hire)
Preferred: The patients of PTH speak many languages, including Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi, Hmong, and others. Bi-lingual candidates may qualify for additional pay based on proven ability to communicate in a second language.

- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time
