Iowa County is seeking applications for a Limited Term (Parttime) Department Assistant in the County Treasurer’s Office.
This position’s primary focus is to provide clerical and customer service support for the Treasurer’s Office and assist with statutory duties assigned under Wisconsin Statutes Chapters 59.25, 74, and 75. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting the public, answering and directing phone calls, processing daily mail, maintaining electronic and hardcopy records, performing word-processing and spreadsheet tasks, and working with financial software, including Munis. Duties also include handling and receipting large sums of cash, preparing daily deposits, printing County checks, completing tax searches, assisting with annual and ongoing taxpayer mailings, and completing assigned reports. Hours will typically fall between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, averaging about 20 hours per week. This position is authorized through December 31, 2026. Starting pay is Grade F ($20.95/hourly).
Minimum Qualifications include but are not limited to:
• High School diploma or GED
• Three years of increasingly complex office experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet management
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, work independently, and communicate effectively with the public and staff
• Preference for experience with land descriptions, banking, and 10key by touch proficiency
