Truck Driver

Our Truck Drivers deliver our Liquid Calf Milk Replacer to our regional customers.  The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities of this job.  However, it does list the essential functions of the job and any applicant for this position should be evaluated according to these requirements, without regard to physical handicap.  Essential functions also include the ability to get along with other employees, to follow directions, to work under stress with deadlines, to be able to get to work and maintain regular attendance during scheduled work hours.

• Be on time for load, time set by dispatch.
• Have CDL license and tanker endorsement, have passed a DOT physical, and can pass a drug and alcohol test.  Driver must meet all minimum DOT requirements.
• Driver must be able to unload items that he might be taking to customer.  He could be required to lift and carry up to 70 pounds, from belly box of his trailer to customer’s barn.
• Driver must be able to make manual connections of his hose to tanker and to growers’ tank.  Driver must be able to go up ladder and open man way of tanker and connect plumbing at his tanker and at grower’s facility.
• Driver is to assemble door on customer’s tank and turn on chiller and agitator after he makes delivery.
• Driver must fill out a log sheet each day as required by DOT.  Also driver must turn in Strauss Veal Feed paperwork daily.  He must also turn in inspection report each day on unit he drove.
• All other duties as assigned.
