Position Description – Truck Driver/Knuckle boom Operator

Reports to: Department Supervisor/Manager
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, handling, and delivery of products while ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role combines driving, equipment operation, and customer service responsibilities to support logistics and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Quality:
- Ensure Safety First, Safety Always and meet or exceed quality expectations.
- Inspect equipment prior to shift for road readiness and compliance.
- Perform quality control by visually inspecting and securing freight prior to departure.
- Report mechanical or quality issues to Supervisor and ensure resolution before departure.
- Transportation & Delivery:
- Safely transport products from LT Corp Facilities/Customer sites to delivery locations.
- Adhere to all traffic safety laws and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours and delivery details.
- Loading & Unloading:
- Climb tanks and prepare them for offloading.
- Safely operate crane (knuckle boom) at customer sites to unload new tanks and load returning tanks.
- Unload product at delivery sites while maintaining product quality.
- Customer Service:
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers, team members and 3rd party partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships through excellent service.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks and equipment.
- Ensure proper handling of tools and safety gear.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year operating medium- to heavy-duty commercial trucks with a clean safety record.
- Experience with flatbed and/or heavy equipment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to drive long hours and occasionally remain out up to 2 weeks.
- Ability to adapt to various traffic and weather conditions.
- Ability to safely climb ladders up to 14 feet and lift/move 50–75 lbs.
- Ability to manually extend outriggers (75–80 lbs) for crane support.
- Strong attention to detail for safety and quality compliance.
- Ability to accurately record data and follow verbal/written instructions.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Class-A Commercial Driver’s License.
- HAZMAT Certification required.
- Certification or qualification to operate a knuckle boom (or willingness to obtain).
