We are looking for a full-time Truck Driver, Class B to join our team. This role requires daily driving to customer jobsites and other delivery locations. In this position, you will safely deliver lumber and building materials while helping ensure accurate, efficient service and a positive customer experience.

*This position is located onsite and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Safely operate Class B flatbed trucks and related equipment to deliver building materials to customer jobsites and other delivery locations.

  • Load, unload, secure, and transport materials in a manner that helps ensure safe, accurate, and damage-free delivery.

  • Review delivery paperwork and verify materials before departure and at delivery to help ensure order accuracy and customer satisfaction.

  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members regarding deliveries, schedules, and jobsite conditions.

  • Provide a high level of customer service during deliveries and represent Golden State Lumber in a professional manner.

  • Communicate customer questions or potential sales opportunities to the appropriate team members.

  • Inspect assigned vehicles and equipment before and after use and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

  • Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies related to driving, delivery, and material handling.

  • Maintain required logs and records related to deliveries, vehicle status, and regulatory compliance.

  • Support yard and delivery operations by assisting with loading, organizing materials, and related tasks as needed.

  • Safely operate forklifts or other equipment needed to load, unload, and move materials, as required.

  • Perform additional duties and assignments as needed to support delivery operations and customer needs.

 

Required Qualifications/ Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B).

  • One to two years of truck driving experience.

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • Ability to complete and maintain company-provided forklift certification and training.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.

  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and vehicle care.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including but not limited to sitting for extended periods, climbing in and out of trucks and trailers, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and material handling.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering building materials using flatbed trucks or similar equipment. 
  • Experience securing cargo and handling delivery documentation in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. 
  • Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment. 
  • Experience working in a lumber yard, warehouse, or building materials environment. 
  • Familiarity with customer-facing delivery roles requiring professional communication and service.
