Job Description

Position Summary



The Truck Driver role provides service by delivering and unloading our products and/or equipment in accordance with company guidelines and DOT regulations, while maintaining safe work practices. This role reports to Shipping Manager or Plant Manager based on the location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Deliver and unload Prinsco, Inc. products and/or equipment, within accordance with all Prinsco guidelines and DOT regulations, maintaining a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

  • Follow DOT 60/7 hours of service regulations and logbooks per DOT requirements.

  • Conduct a pre-inspection DOT check of tractor and trailer daily, notifying dispatch of non- compliance.

  • Conduct pre-inspection of loaded product, confirming product matches the Bill of Lading / delivery slip, and that there is not any visible damage or non-conformance.

  • Confirm that conditions are safe for unloading and that product will not be damaged in the unloading process; if not, notify dispatch immediately before unloading.

  • Document all products that were received on bills of lading, notifying dispatch of any differences.

  • Clean the trailer daily, sweeping any dirt, rocks or debris off the trailer.

  • Present yourself to customers in a clean appearance, polite and courteous manner promoting mission statement and Prinsco’s core values.

  • Return empty trailers back to the yard as soon as possible so they can be reloaded for the next day or delivery.

  • Pick up centers (cores) whenever possible.

  • Conduct a post-delivery inspection of truck and trailer immediately upon return, documenting and informing dispatch of any defects or issues.

  • Report any accidents, near misses or moving violations to dispatch immediately.

  • Focus on cross-training, continuous learning and improvement.

  • Participate and support the Continuous Improvement (CI) culture.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.
