Job Description

The Truck Driver is responsible for picking up and transporting items while safely operating a box truck.  This includes collecting items from donation bins, businesses, and other industries.  The Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering items to St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores, other businesses, and furniture to homes.

1. Responsible for all pick-ups and transport to the warehouse of all donated items from donation bins and businesses.

2. Responsible for delivering merchandise from the thrifts stores to the designated locations.                                                                                                                                                                                                

3. Responsible for unloading truck daily.

4. Maintain assigned vehicle in a safe and clean manner.                                                                                          

5. Responsible for inspecting assigned truck daily and reporting any problems to the supervisor.                                                            

6. Responsible for completing routes as assigned.                                                                                                                                                                   

7. Responsible for maintaining communication with the manager to ensure efficient daily scheduling and to assist in increasing productivity. 

8. Responsible for maintaining and completing accurate paperwork and reports while always looking for ways to increase effectiveness.                                                                                                                                                   

9. Ensuring that proper paperwork and reports are completed in the event of a vehicle accident/incident.                          

10. Report immediately any accidents or Worker’s Compensation injuries to management.

11. Responsible for maintaining a valid and clean driver’s license and reporting any changes.  

12. Responsible for completing other duties as assigned by management.                           

13. Must always be courteous to the public and remember you may be the only representative from St. Vincent de Paul that the customer will ever meet.

14. Complete all assigned training and attend all mandatory meetings.
