Job Objective: Use hand-welding and flame-cutting, equipment to weld, cut or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Promotes and enhances TSM Metal Works mission to create a community of industry experts committed to supply chain solutions, quality products and superior customer satisfaction.
Skill Summary:
Experienced welder in multiple facets of welding. Able to read some plan-and-build drawings. Can solve most issues or problems that arise. Helps train less experienced members of the team. Uses experience to contribute to the success of the company.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Measure and cut workpieces using equipment according to the instructions on prints, diagrams, or other documents.
- Make decisions regarding what gases, wire or rod, and settings to be used based on materials and environment to achieve a clean weld and reduce splatter.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together using clamps or other devices to secure while welding.
- Joins metal parts together using welding equipment. Fuses two or more metal pieces while keeping contaminants from entering the weld and weakening the bond.
- Inspects welds to assess the strength and stability of each joint.
- Troubleshoot any issue that may arise during the welding process.
- Identifies, marks, and prepares for shipping.
- Adheres to the best practices to maintain a safe worksite and products
- Works the assigned schedule including any overtime and complies with the company's timekeeping policy.

- High school or technical training on how to safely operate welding equipment and have learned skills and techniques related to welding.
- Speaks fluently, reads, comprehends in the English language.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and able to convert fractions to decimals and decimals into fractions.
- Ability to use a variety of measuring tools accurately and precisely such as a tape measure and calipers.
- Ability to work independently and to maintain a regular, reliable, and predictable schedule which includes punctuality and adhering to timelines.

Summary
TSM Metal Works is a growing sheet metal fabrication company on the Cumberland Plateau. We are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator who is enthusiastic and willing to take the initiative to complete welding tasks accurately and with great attention to detail. TIG and MIG welding experience on aluminum is required.

Essential Duties:
- Performs moderate to complex welding tasks
- Select proper electrodes and shielding gases
- Cut and prepare material for welding
- Can successfully fit components base off a drawing
- Able operate band saw, mag drill,

Qualifications
- Aluminum welding experience (TIG)
- Aluminum and Steel experience (MIG)
- Fabrication experience
- Attendance, Shift Punctuality
- Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) by hand or using a calculator
- Regularly lift 75lbs or more
- Operates equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines, banding machines, and overhead cranes
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Day shift is Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 4:30pm. The typical week is scheduled for 50 hours.
