- Assist in preparation of patient rooms and beds for receiving patient admissions, patients returning from surgical procedures, transfers, emergencies and discharges.
- Assist in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
- Provides post-mortem care and assists in transporting bodies to the morgue.
- Provides daily hygiene care, which may include bed baths, oral hygiene, combing hair, skin care, dressing patients, changing and/or freshening bed linen, cleaning overbed tables and bedside stands, straightening room and other general care as necessary throughout the day.
- Assist RN or LPN with patient care interventions.
- Answers telephone and call lights. Takes messages and communicates messages to proper person. Communication is effective, courteous and tactful.
- Performs clerical duties related to the admission, transfer and discharge of patients. Assist patients, visitors and physicians in the nursing unit.
- Compiles new charts, maintains current charts and enters patient information in the computer, and other necessary forms.
